Pasadena School Goes Solar!

Harambee Ministrees in Northwest Pasadena is the first school to become solar-powered! On July 14th, eighteen solar panels were placed on the main campuses’ roof, fulfilling the joint efforts of the Pasadena Leadership team (Pasadena Unified School District, Caltch, United Methodist Church, etc).

Director of Harambee Ministries, Rudy Carrasco, hopes this will be the catalyst to encourage other environmentally friendly changes in Pasadena. Carrasco says, “We saw that Harambee could take a leadership role of its own by becoming the ‘green beacon’ for the neighborhood.”

Join Harambee Ministries, Mayor Bill Bogaard and the rest of Pasadena TONIGHT (July 24th) 6-8pm to celebrate the solar unveiling. The evening is free but a complimentary dinner requires rsvp’s: keith@harambee.org or 626 798 7341.

More info:
Harambee (Swahili for “Let’s Get Together and Push”) is located at 1609 Navarro Ave., Pasadena.
